Singer-actress Hilary Duff has launched her latest advertisement for her upcoming fashion clothes line for DKNY Jeans. In the ad, Duff featured some of the Femme fashion clothes line together with models Gracie Carvalho and Sophie Srej. The backdrop is the streets of bustling New York City.

Duff wore a black outfit in the ad. She was seen sporting black leggings, pants and outwear. Aside from the products she sported, the fashion clothes line has cowl scarves, skinny jeans, sweater tunics, shirts, vests and even accessories. Prices range from $39 to $129 for t-shirts and outerwear.

“Gossip Girl” star Jessica Szohr got the opportunity to wear one of Duff’s original designs during a fashion event at the Big Apple. This is also an indication that Duff has signed on to appear in the highly-rated show in a few episodes. “Gossip Girl” is a television series based in New York.

Duff will soon appear in her own television series titled “Barely Legal.” This show, produced by “Numbers” star Rob Morrow, is based on the true-to-life story of Kathleen Holtz who passed the California bar at the age of 18. The show has been picked up by NBC.

In this undertaking, parents only need to bring the clothes that are no longer used by their children and have it swapped for those that are currently needed. Parents are invited to go to Trent Boulevard in New Bern, North Carolina to drop off the clothes. The Child Care Resource and Referral organization is based in the area.

Don’t be surprised if you find your wife or girlfriend spending a long time choosing what to wear for the day. A recent study revealed that in an adult lifetime (from 16 years of age to 60), women spends about 287 days going through their wardrobe.

That can be translated to almost a year dedicated to deciding what work outfits or gym clothes to wear not to mention what attire to pick for dinner parties, vacations and other outdoor activities. They even spend time thinking about what swimwear to wear. The largest chunk of the aforementioned time frame usually takes place on a weekend where most outdoor activities take place.

Researchers stated that an average female spends about 16 minutes on a weekday just thinking and deciding what to wear. On weekends, it could take up to an hour. Even choosing gym clothes could take longer since it’s not just about having an exercise at the gym but still about looking presentable among other gym-goers.

Clothing company Matalan, the one who polled nearly 2,500 women for the study, stated that a woman feels great if she wears an outfit that fits her mood for that day. It also deals with the image portrayed to other people as well.

This is a current fashion trend that no one expected to flourish. According to reports, a prominent fashion magazine editor has accused designers for continuing with the zero size trends.

Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman, a popular name in the fashion industry, stated her concern on the ongoing trend of designers’ hiring “size zero” models which could be attributed to the rising incidence of teenage anorexia.

Shulman reportedly sent a letter to major fashion houses based in the United States and Europe. Although the contents of the letter were not published for public reading, a London-based newspaper stated that the contents pretty much centered on Shulman’s concern on the hiring of models with “no breasts or hips” or with “jutting bones.” She added that the “size zero” figure became an obvious requirement since models are given tiny garments to wear during photo shoots. Vogue magazine revealed that there were times that they had to digitally retouch the photos to make the models look a bit larger.

There were recent reports of three models dying due to malnutrition-related complications. This has prompted the starting of the campaign to ban size-zero models to promote proper nutrition to the public.

Christian Lacroix, a popular haute couture house, has been struggling with profits over the years and with the global financial crisis, this fashion giant may have to fold down.

According to reports, the company went into administration a few months ago and that next week; it will attempt to make another major comeback via a series of shows revealing its new line for autumn and winter.

Fashion editors have hailed the creations by Christian Lacroix, a French designer that created the haute couture house in 1987.

There have been speculations that the upcoming fashion show would be the last for the company due to financial struggles.

In the past, the haute couture house has sponsored major fashion shows attended by high profile celebrities. Most of these events were attended by nearly a thousand VIP guests but for the upcoming show, barely 300 individuals got invitations.

Luxury giant LVMH supported the creation of this haute couture house 22 years ago but it was sold in 2005 to Falic, a US duty free giant. Last year, the company reported a 10-million euro slump in sales. The haute couture house has 250 employees whose jobs are in jeopardy.

The annual Berlin Fashion Week, sponsored by luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz, still lacks in terms of the presence of popular designers but despite this fact, it is starting to gain international attention due to the quality lines presented by new fashion designers.

It’s a known fact that more people flock in fashion meccas such as Paris, New York, London and Milan to watch the latter summer and winter fashion. However, based on the interest being seen on the ongoing Berlin Fashion Show, it’s just a matter of time that this German city will be aligned with the aforementioned fashion powerhouse.

The Berlin Fashion Week runs from Wednesday to Sunday.

The Berlin event has started two years ago and so far popular names such as Vivienne Westwood, UGG and others have graced the fashion week. This year, there will be major German fashion names giving their support to this undertaking such as Schumacher, Escada and Hugo Boss.

The winter fashion collection of Hugo Boss’ BOOS Black Collection will be the first to be featured on the opening daw of the Fashion Week.

Aside from the established fashion names, the organizers of the Berlin Fashion Week are giving new players a chance to feature their lines. The new designers were given their own schedule later in the week.
