Britain-based fashion label Luella has reportedly stopped trading after the company’s sudden closure last month due to the financial crisis.

According to reports, the company owned by British fashion designer Luella Bartley stopped trading after the producer of its ready to wear line which included clothing as well as undergarments such as lingerie stopped its operations and the company’s main investor stopped sending in the money. This development was reported by Reuters.

The fashion line has garnered popularity through the years since popular model Kate Moss and singer Lily Allen have been seen wearing the line in numerous occasions, thus boosting sales.

Bartley won the Designer of the Year award in the prestigious British Fashion Awards last year.

In a statement, Bartley said that she was extremely disappointed with the outcome of her 10-year old company but added that she has a lot of options open for the future and will announce her decision in the coming months.

The countdown for the highly anticipated Oriental Red Carpet Fashion Show began with interested participants awaiting invitations for this exclusive show that will take place in the Ramadan calendar month.

According to reports, the Oriental Red Carpet Fashion Show will take place on September 3, 2009 in Dubai. The undertaking is organized by Dubai Ladies Club, a member of the Dubai Women Establishment.

In the latest season of hit fashion reality TV show “Project Runway,” high profile celebrities such as Rebecca Romijm, Eva Longoria Parker, Christina Aguilera and Lindsay Lohan are scheduled to make appearances as guest judges.

The fashion show, hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum, will feature sixteen aspiring fashion designers that will compete against each other in a bid to win a fashion spread in Marie Clair magazine, an all expense paid trip for two to Paris and $100,000 in cash.

Klum revealed in an interview that viewers should watch out for the female competitors in the upcoming series because she believes that they have performed strongly. However, she noted that there’ll be a lot of fighting and crying in the series as a lot of dramas are expected to unfold which will affect most of the female contenders.

The judges of the show include Marie Claire Fashion Director Nina Garcia and Top Designer Michael Kors. In the first episode which starts on September 16, controversial actress Lindsay Lohan will make an appearance as guest judge. In the preview, Lohan was seen enjoying the experience of judging talented fashion designers.

Brazilian model Jesus Luz, rumored to be the current flame of pop star Madonna, appeared at a well-attended fashion show in Milan last week.

According to reports, Luz just came from a star-studded fashion week event in Sao Paulo Brazil a couple of days ago before he made his presence known at the Dolce & Gabbana Spring / Summer 2010 fashion show in the Italian city. This means that he’s now part of the ad campaign for the fashion brand’s ad campaign for the Fall – Winter 2009 – 2010 collection. His photos were shot by Steven Klein.

Major clothing line Lacoste unveiled its latest spring fashion lineup at a runway show that coincides with a major claycourt tennis tournament in the area.

Lacoste conducted its fashion show on Monday at The Riviera Theater in Charleston, West Virginia. The show was initially scheduled to take place on King Street but rainshowers made this impossible.

Modeling the latest outfits include local university students, residents, kids and tennis pros who are participating in this week’s Family Circle Cup – a higher tier women’s tennis tour event. Most of the models walked down the runway with dogs from Pet Helpers.

Slovakian tennis player Dominika Cibulkova dressed up for the occasion as she showed her glamorous side on the catwalk.

The event was well-attended with lots of food and drinks served to the jampacked audience. The attendees were given gift bags plus discount cards which they could use when they purchase Lacoste merchandise.

The night was full of tributes. Hot musicians like Justin Timberlake and Beyonce Knowles gave tribute to Marvin Gaye and Etta James. Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas also gave a shout-out to the Rolling stones and the masters of Punk.
