Top celebrity fashion designer Ben Di Lisi gave out some of his fashion tips this year and what trends should be followed in terms of fabric color and other factors. The designer released his new line called Principles by Ben Di Lisi which has been generating a lot of buzz this year.

In the interview, Di Lisi said that consumers should go for investing on their clothes – the ones that guarantee longevity. He said that his current collection does not limit itself to the body and bra sizes of size zero models but for women of all sizes. He said that every woman deserves to feel good on what they wear.

Some of his fashion tips for summer include wearing of pleated sleeves during the summer if the wearer does not want to show her arms. He said that there are a lot of beautiful little knits in the market right now that are reasonably priced. He believes that this is a must have for everyone.

Controversial fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander received additional charges for newly revealed allegations. According to reports, these charges are on top of those that already sent him to jail.

Popularly known as Anand Jon, the once-rising fashion designer maintained his “not guilty” stance as he was arraigned in a court in New York on additional charges of rape and other sexual related crimes that have allegedly occurred in 2002.

The new victims that surfaced, according to the prosecutors, were minors.

In 2008, the designer was convicted at a Los Angeles Court for sexually molesting seven women and girls, with most of them aspiring to become models. They were promised such gigs. The victims were said to be as young as fourteen.

The designer was sentenced to 59 years in prison and it may likely increase if he’ll be found guilty on the additional charges filed against him.

Zafer Caglayan, Turkey’s Minister of Trade and Industry, has reportedly invited fashion and design companies to take part in the Istanbul Fashion Week 2010, an event which aims to build a more united fashion industry. The event will take place from February 3 to 6, 2010.

Caglayan said during a press conference on Friday that this event, to take place for the second time following its successful debut last August, has been ignored in the past. He stressed that the Istanbul Fashion Week will be crucial in terms of making the first step in promoting unity among the leading players in the fashion, textile and design market.

Hikmet Tanriverdi, President of the Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters Association, said that they are aiming for the goal of making Istanbul as one of the top five cities in the world that’s leading in the fashion market. The target year is 2023.

Authorities in Sydney are currently searching for three suspects believed to have taken part in the stealing of thousands of dollars worth of fashion handbags sold in a post Prada store last week.

The boutique, located in Martin Place, was broken into by thieves early in the morning, with both front glass doors smashed open.
According to reports, the men have immediately snatched the bags that are part of the new line, with each item costing about $3,000 each.

The CCTV footage of the robbery revealed that the robbers were heavily disguised which makes it difficult to identify them. The robbery is the first of its kind in New South Wales in several months.

The robbers have said to have escaped southbound on George Street where they boarded a blue Subaru vehicle. The vehicle, with an identifiable license plate, was stolen a few weeks ago.
The authorities are asking the public for assistance as for the whereabouts of the thieves.
