Istandbul Fashion week aims to build more united industry
Zafer Caglayan, Turkey’s Minister of Trade and Industry, has reportedly invited fashion and design companies to take part in the Istanbul Fashion Week 2010, an event which aims to build a more united fashion industry. The event will take place from February 3 to 6, 2010.
Caglayan said during a press conference on Friday that this event, to take place for the second time following its successful debut last August, has been ignored in the past. He stressed that the Istanbul Fashion Week will be crucial in terms of making the first step in promoting unity among the leading players in the fashion, textile and design market.
Hikmet Tanriverdi, President of the Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters Association, said that they are aiming for the goal of making Istanbul as one of the top five cities in the world that’s leading in the fashion market. The target year is 2023.
